The contract provides for Full-Time Lecturer, Part-Time Lecturer, Visiting Lecturer, Assistant Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, and Course Coordinator appointments.

Lecturer assignments may apply to Higher National Diploma programmes, Bachelor’s programmes, Master’s programmes, and professional certification or diploma programmes.

Responsibilities may include lectures, tutorials, practical sessions, preparation of lesson plans and course materials, assessment, maintenance of academic records, student guidance, research support, curriculum development, faculty collaboration, reporting, and participation in academic activities.

Yes. The contract includes academic guidance and counselling, regular consultation opportunities, support for student research projects, academic development, and participation in student orientation when required.

The contract requires punctual attendance at scheduled classes, a minimum class attendance level of 95%, prior approval for class cancellations, and mandatory make-up classes for missed sessions.

Performance is evaluated through Teaching Effectiveness at 40%, Professional Development at 25%, Administrative Contribution at 20%, and Student Support at 15%.

The contract also provides for a mid-semester review, end-of-semester evaluation, annual performance review, and special evaluations where considered necessary.

Lecturers are expected to uphold teaching excellence, academic integrity, honesty, confidentiality, professional appearance and behaviour, punctuality, reliability, objective assessment, respect for students and colleagues, and compliance with institutional policies.

Yes. Lecturers are required to protect student academic records, examination materials, sensitive institutional information, and other confidential information connected to their academic duties.

No appointment is established merely by submitting an application. A formal academic engagement is documented through an approved teaching contract identifying the lecturer’s role, department, programme level, course assignment, duration, responsibilities, and signed acceptance.

Contract renewal is subject to satisfactory performance evaluation and institutional needs. The contract also provides for salary review during renewal and for a notice period to be specified before expiry.

The contract is governed by the laws of the Republic of Cameroon and the regulations governing higher education institutions.
