Academic Role
The contract identifies the lecturer’s formal category of engagement, such as Full-Time Lecturer, Part-Time Lecturer, Visiting Lecturer, Assistant Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, or Course Coordinator.
Department & Programme Level
The lecturer’s department and applicable programme level are formally recorded, including HND, Bachelor’s, Master’s, or professional certification and diploma programmes.
Courses, Credits & Levels
Assigned courses may be documented together with their credit values, academic levels, teaching schedule, and related contact responsibilities.

Lecturers are expected to uphold teaching excellence, academic integrity, honesty, confidentiality, professional appearance and behaviour, punctuality, reliability, objective assessment, respect for students and colleagues, and compliance with institutional policies.
Yes. Lecturers are required to protect student academic records, examination materials, sensitive institutional information, and other confidential information connected to their academic duties.
No appointment is established merely by submitting an application. A formal academic engagement is documented through an approved teaching contract identifying the lecturer’s role, department, programme level, course assignment, duration, responsibilities, and signed acceptance.
Contract renewal is subject to satisfactory performance evaluation and institutional needs. The contract also provides for salary review during renewal and for a notice period to be specified before expiry.
The contract is governed by the laws of the Republic of Cameroon and the regulations governing higher education institutions.
